What began as a wild hair idea to write a children's novel in February of 2018 has become a definite thing. I am ecstatic to announce that Pixel+Ink Books will publish my debut middle-grade novel CLARA POOLE AND THE LONG WAY ROUND in the spring of 2023, with a second title launching spring of 2024. The thought that one story of my creation will appear on bookstore shelves is truly special, let alone two. It also brings new and exciting challenges as a writer, having to expand upon the world and characters I've bought to life over the past few years. I am fortunate not to do this alone but with the guiding hand and sharp wit of industry-favorite and veteran editor Alison Weiss, whose expertise has already helped transform CLARA from a decent manuscript into a real commercial book. Of course, that doesn't exclude my amazing agent, Erin Clyburn of Howland Literary, who was brave enough to take me on in the first place. Now, with the first book more or less complete, I am immersed in the story outlining for book two and beyond—not a place I ever expected to be. But, it sure is fun!
