I needed a little break from working on my current book, LAND OF ENDS (which I am almost finished with the first draft of book one). Thought I'd return to CLARA POOLE AND THE LONG WAY ROUND and design some posters for each stage of the 100th WOOBA Air Race. For those that might not know the story of Clara here it is:
After causing an accident that takes her mother’s life, twelve-year-old Clara Poole struggles to quiet the daredevil inside her and respect the demands of her overprotective father. But when an unintended flight over Michigan in her class science project—a lawn chair held aloft by balloons—brings instant celebrity, Clara is invited to be the spokesperson for a round-the-world hot air balloon race. Her father says no, but Clara, feeling the pull of her old life, says yes. She runs away to Paris and signs an unbreakable contract just before learning how perilous the race is that lies ahead. Clara must survive the ten treacherous stages of the air race as she travels around the world with a colorful, irreverent cast of characters, reclaiming her daredevil self and learning that forgiving herself isn’t a process she has to undertake alone.
